The Chieveley Gardening Club annual Autumn Flower Show. This is our biggest show of the year and the hall will be full of glorious colour and scents of late summer. The flower classes should be packed with Dahlias, Chrysanthemums and late roses but there are other classes for an autumn wedding buttonhole, pot plants, and flowering shrubs. If you concentrate on garden produce perhaps you could enter the classes for vegetables or fruit? If all else fails class 79 is for a wonky vegetable. Do have a go: we are friendly and welcome new gardeners who are prepared to have a go.

Please join in - the essence of a village flower show is the taking part not the winning. Indeed the prize money is derisory but there is the usual ‘big-headedness' when you see your name as a winner.

If you wants help, advice or gushing enthusiasm ask Michael Pocock,
248213 or me, 248716.
