Chieveley-based The Merry Kitchen is offering a regular Friday home cooked takeaway to residents from its base on the High Street.

The Friday feast this week is a fabulous PIE FEAST!!! The perfect January comfort dish, fabulous for a Friday family feast, or an easy Sunday lunch. Pies will be in our usual foil dishes, full of hearty, warming fillings and topped with puff pastry for you to finish off cooking at home. Full instructions included. Please feel free to add any market deli dishes to your order (sausage rolls etc).

Menu for Friday 22 January

  • Beef bourguignon pie, the classic rich and hearty French dish, topped with puff pastry, serves 2, £14
  • Chicken, ham and leek pie, a favourite creamy filling with home roasted ham, serves 2, £14
  • Spinach, feta & squash pie, the fabulous vege version, serves 2, £14
  • Roasted root veg crumble, (side dish or vege main), serves 2, £10


Orders by email to by 9pm Wednesday for COVID-safe delivery/collection from Marymead House (on the High Street) on Friday 4-6pm, or from Chieveley market on Saturday mornings (9.30am-12 noon) at the village hall.  Please give full address on email and inform us if you are in isolation and require delivery.

Meals provided in foil trays with reheating instructions.

We use and support local suppliers - Beedon eggs, Vicars Game, Fishers Veg.

All food is prepared in an isolated commercial kitchen in our home and will only be prepped/cooked by myself.
