Medicines for Muheza Annual Service 19th October 2025

Please see below from Dr Karilyn Collins, who will see you on 19th October:

Lots can happen in a year! Since our last visit to Chieveley, Trump has come into office and finished all USAID. This has resulted in 25 members of staff working from the Diana Centre on the HIV/AIDs programme  losing their jobs. In the update I will talk about how Edgar is facing up this challenge.

Last Christmas, Edgar wrote to me about twins Asnat and Asma Said who, at 20 months old, weighed little more than the average birth weight of a baby.

Their mother is HIV positive and took medication to prevent the children from being born with it. However, her husband left her when she was pregnant and she went back to her father who lives in dire poverty. The twins are HIV negative but severely malnourished.

Muheza Hospice Care visited the twins (pictured above), supplying them with nutritional supplements and food. Hear more about them in the update. Hear too how the prison visiting project is going and have an update on the Hereford Muheza link Society 40th Anniversary Appeal to renovate the Diana Building which is in desperate need of repair.
