 Planning Applications

Applications for a conversion of an outbuilding into a separate 1 bedroom dwelling outside the village envelope and an extension were considered at the meeting. 

Chieveley Recreational Centre/Chieveley Parish Council’s Review of Grants and Maintenance Support for the MUGA, Children’s Playground and Playing Field

A draft paper outlining the mechanism of the grant process, the use of grant funds and how they are accounted for was considered and agreed.  The Parish Council continues to support Chieveley Village Hall & Recreational Centre to maintain these community facilities and future plans.

Speeding along the Oxford Road

West Berkshire Council Speed Review Panel have agreed to a 50mph speed restriction between the Graces Lane junction through to the 40mph retriction near Tudor Avenue on the Oxford Road, Chieveley

Dog Fouling

Reports of dog fouling in the Horsemoor area on PROWS has been reported to the Parish Council and West Berkshire Council.  Please can all dog owners pick up after their dog if they foul on a PROW and dispose of the waste responsibly.

Residents are invited to read the WBC budget proposal affecting public services in the District.  Closing date 23 December 2018.

West Berkshire Local Plan Review (LPR) Consultation 9 November - 21 December 2018

West Berkshire Council (WBC) is reviewing its Local Plan to cover the period up to 2036 and commenced their second-round consultation. Seeking comments on the proposed: vision for the LPR;   revision of the existing spatial areas;   methodology for reviewing the existing settlement hierarchy;  criteria for the settlement boundary review; and update of our assessment of existing Local Plan policies.

This will be followed up with another consultation in the summer of 2019 with the publication of the assessments of sites that have been submitted to us as part of the Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA).

WBC would welcome feedback on their proposals Consultation Paper. Your comments should be submitted during the six week consultation period, running from Friday 9 November to 4:30pm on Friday 21 December 2018.

Road Closure – Mud Lane, Peasemore to Old Street, Beedon

Public Open Space (POS) Planting Scheme, Chieveley

A site meeting with the West Berkshire Council Tree Officer took place on Wednesday 7th November 2018 to discuss tree planting and landscaping for the POS’s with representatives from The Green, Middle Farm Close, West Berkshire Council and Parish Council.  A tree planting schedule and plan will be provided for consideration
