Full details have been announced for the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon event to be held in Chieveley on Thursday 2nd June. The timetable of events is as follows:

  • From 8.45pm - Meet at Chieveley Recreation Ground
  • 8.55pm - A proclamation
  • 9.00pm - Chieveley School Choir
  • 9.30pm - Fanfare for the Common Man - Trumpet
  • 9.40pm - ‘Diu Regnare’ - Piper
  • 9.45pm - Lighting of the Beacon

Leave the car: you are kindly requested to leave your car behind and walk to the event where possible.

Parking: Limited parking will be available for those who live further afield or who have mobility challenges on The Rec’ parking and on The Green parking area (signposted). The Green parking area will be closed at 11pm. Please ensure that your car is removed by then.

Your comfort: Please consider bringing along a chair, something with which to keep yourself warm and a torch to see you home safely.

‘The Queen’: Please do join us in toasting The Queen by bringing along your favourite tipple.
