The Downland Practice in Chieveley has provided the following update together with an appeal for volunteers to help the vaccination effort.
It is still early days but it very much looks like we will be working alongside the other GP Practices in the Newbury area on this project. This decision makes the COVID-19 vaccination process a more manageable task, this is not a simple Flu jab that we deliver every winter to our patients but a new and more complexed vaccination that demands extra care to administer to the patient.
We anticipate that we will be vaccinating patients in mid-Jan 2021, we still have a lot of work to undertake. We will be mass texting some of our patients in the next few days/weeks asking for assistance. If you wish to volunteer in a clinical role or as administration support please email the practice on email@example.com.
We understand that there are some concerns that some patients registered at the Downland Practice may be missing out on this COVID-19 vaccination. Please be assured that the vast majority of the practices in the Newbury and surrounding area have not started this vaccination programme yet and are unlikely to do so until mid-Jan 2021. Once we have a date established for COVID-19 vaccination clinics, patients will be given appointments and we will inform patients of developments via the website.
In the meantime have a great Christmas, be safe and we will be in touch with those who are due a COVID-19 vaccination very soon.
