On Saturday 27th June a series of working parties of Chieveley volunteers under the leadership of Mark Hutchison set about replacing the surface of the playground. It had become worn by heavy and extended use. It is now refreshed and ready for the expected re-opening of the playground on 4th July, in line with government coronavirus regulations. Many thanks to the many who worked through rain and storm to move the mountain of chippings and spread them for the benefit of all villagers.
The multi-gym should also be opening at the same time. Hand sanitiser will be provided from a stand between the two. Parents and users are asked to make their own assessment of risk and take appropriate precautions for themselves and those in their care.
