The organisers of The Chieveley 50 have announced that it will return in 2022
The Chieveley 50
This is the Chieveley village community stroll. We haven’t been able to do this through Covid but the time feels right again. We all need something to look forward to and a bit if a challenge too!
Great fun and a chance to chat to friends and meet new ones.
What we do
Walk a mile a day for 50 days. Or join us whenever you can. We do a morning and an evening stroll to allow for all to join in. Choose which works for you best – or do both. We will start on Thursday 13th January at 9.00am and then again at 6pm and finish with the 6pm walk on Friday 4th March. The walk starts at the church and we stroll up to the Village Hall and loop around the grass area into Middle Farm Close and then back again.
Previously we have completed the walks for charity and have raised valuable funds for Loose Ends, a local homelessness charity and Recovery in Mind, a local mental health charity. We have done so by pledging an amount for every mile walked, and in most cases £50 for the 50 days. However there is no obligation at all to donate. You can simply come and join us on the walks. If you would like to donate this year we are splitting our donations between:
- Chieveley Playground Project
- Time to Talk West Berkshire, a charity to promote the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young people aged 11-25 in West Berkshire.
So pop the dates in your diaries now.
Hope you are all remaining safe and well and we look forward to seeing you all again. Please chat to us if you would like any more information.
