Having established itself in Chieveley in 1898 and after 122 years of supplying the village with bread Shepherds Bakery has announced it is turning off its ovens on Friday 19 June.
Owner Tony Manley says "It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Shepherds Bakery. We find ourselves in a position where the business is no longer viable in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years and thank everyone for their custom. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to bake for you".
The Bread and Veg service will be accepting orders until 4pm Wednesday 17 June and will then cease.
