The Chieveley Recreation Committee are running a major revamp of the children’s playground at the Recreation Ground. The current playground receives a quarterly safety inspection and obtains a regular clean bill of health. However some of the equipment is now beginning to show its age (almost 30 years), the wooden fencing is rotting in places and the wood chips need replacing every couple of years.

This project will be one of the largest public projects the village has seen in recent years. A group of volunteers are being assembled to steer the project through. The group is keen to involve youngsters to find out what they would like to be included in any new proposals. These discussions will be held through communication with Chieveley Primary School, Chieveley Preschool, Quackers and Chieveley under 5s. In addition there will be other communication and interaction with the wider community.  We will be announcing open sessions at the playground to hear opinions in due course.

We have already received generous grants from West Berkshire Council and Chieveley Parish Council.

No doubt we will also be asking for individual donations in the future. Right now we would really like to hear if you or someone you know could help with our social media plans.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me as detailed further below.

Watch out for further details in the coming months.

Thank you very much (in anticipation) for your support.

Best Wishes,
