Old Street/Manor Lane, Oare
Residents have raised concerns about the erosion of the rural lane due to vehicles ‘rat running’. Information regarding initiatives is being collected and advice taken to see if this lane can be protected and preserved from further damage.
Dog Bin in Oare
The Parish Council have agreed to install a dog bin in Oare but it has not been fitted yet as a contractor service to empty it monthly and clean it has not been found. If you know a local company who is able to offer this service please contact the Parish Clerk firstname.lastname@example.org
West Berkshire Council, Moto Services and Highways England are carrying out inspections in the area after receiving reports of litter. Keep Britain Tidy events taking place locally details are on http://www.mychieveley.co.uk/ and www.curridgevillage.co.uk/news
Chieveley Parish has received Notice of Uncontested Election from West Berkshire Council for both Chieveley and Curridge Wards. The candidates will be confirmed as elected on 2 May 2019. Two new candidates for Curridge Ward. There is a vacancy in Chieveley Ward which the Parish Council will seek to fill as soon as possible.
Various Road Closures
For the safety of workforce and customers, Highways England are doing a number of closures on the M4. Details of which are on the village websites. Of note the closing of the entire roundabout at M4 Junction 13 for surface reconstruction

At this time of year with vegetation growing fast you may find rights of ways need cutting or clearing or paths blocked by growing crops. Please report fallen trees, overgrown paths to West Berkshire Council using Report a Problem
The Chieveley Parish Annual Assembly held on 9 April 2019
A community event well supported. Community groups provided displays and there were local speakers.
The next meeting of the Parish Council will take place at 7.30pm on 14 May 2019 at Curridge W I Hall, Curridge Road, Curridge, Berkshire RG18 9DZ
The first 10 minutes of the meeting are available for members of the public to express a view or ask a question of the Parish Council.
