Highways England have issued the following reminder about an upcoming partial closure of the M4

Dear Stakeholder,

M4 Junction 13 (Chieveley) to 12 (Theale) – Weekend Closure Reminder

This is a reminder that the M4 eastbound carriageway between junction 13 (Chieveley) and junction 12 (Theale/Reading), will be closed next weekend to allow for resurfacing work to take place.

The M4 will be closed from 9pm on Friday 2 October through to 6am on Monday 5 October, to allow for all layers down to the foundations time to harden.

This will be followed by overnight closures (9pm to 6am) of the same stretch on Monday 6 and Tuesday 6 October 2020.

Traffic will be diverted from junction 13, south down the A34 and A339 into Newbury, then east all the way along the A4 to re-join the M4 at junction 12.

Significant delays and congestion are expected during these weekend closures due to the increase in traffic on the diversion route. We advise you to plan your journey and allow extra time or avoid this route if possible.

We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption during the closure. If you have any questions, or if you’d like you know more about our work please email us at info@highwaysengland.co.uk or call us on 0300 123 5000.

Yours faithfully,

Kathryn Blofield Communications/Senior Administrator
