COVID-19 Vaccination Update from the Downland Practice
The Downland surgery will be contacting patients registered at the practice who are over 80 and inviting them to Newbury Racecourse for a COVID-19 Vaccination. Clinics are taking place next week (the week of the 18 January 2021). Patients are strongly advised to attend the clinic and appointment offered. The patient may bring a helper along with them. Appointments are required for this clinic, expect to be disappointed if you ask for a vaccination and turn up with no appointment booked.
On booking the appointment, you will also be given a date for the second vaccinations around 12 week later. Practice staff will send out confirmation letters for both dates to all those patients with booked appointments. Please allow for a good 30 minutes for your vaccination clinic, this is to allow for booking in and administration, then you will have the vaccine with the clinician then you will be asked to wait in a holding area for 15 minutes after you have received your vaccination.
For patients who are unable to attend this clinic there will be some mop up clinics later in the months coming. Patients who are registered at the practice as house bound will be contacted and the community team will visit with a COVID-19 Vaccination.
Meanwhile please stay safe
