What is the Village Agent Scheme all about?
The Village Agent Scheme is a referral/signposting scheme aimed at getting the right services to the right people.
The aim is to put older and/or socially isolated residents in direct contact with various community voluntary and statutory organisations so those residents can get the help and advice they need and to enable them to participate in the activities available in and around their community.
What do Village Agents do?
They provide a trusted and well-known friendly face at the heart of rural communities,
Village Agents aim to make a positive impact by helping people to gain access to services and information. In particular by:
- Putting people in contact with organisations that provide services they need
- Providing high quality information and advice to local residents
- Promoting health and independence
